Bassist, Josh Paris, is one of the many new
faces to join the New York music scene. Josh's
start as a musician took place in his hometown
of Sun Prairie, WI. He started to study music
and play around the area at the age of 16
, including a performance at the Isthmus Jazz
Festival. After High School, Josh continued his
studies at Northern Illinois University, where
he recieved his Bachelors Degree in Music
Education. During that time he was also an
active particpant in the Chicago jazz scene.
Some of the groups he played with were
Scantily Clad, Gravy Crisis, HeadCold, and The
Doug Stone Big Band. Some of his teachers
have included Henry Boehm, Joey Sellers,
John Floeter and Jay Anderson. Josh is
currently pursuing his masters degree in Jazz
Studies at Manhattan School of Music. Current
projects include Toast, BoLT and the Vito
Chiavuzzo Group.
